Socializing, meeting new friends, and talking over a beer have always happened in bars. But today all of this is also happening in Fortnite, Warzone, League of Legends, among countless other games. However, there was still one thing missing to establish games as places to socialize: real beer.
So Heineken chose the most popular mobile games in the world, and turned their existing ads into something more useful: ads that offered free Heineken beer. By giving a new meaning to boring banners that gamers ignored, Heineken opened 2,720 new bars in just one day and improved the experience of millions of gamers.
All gamers had to do was click on the Heineken ads to get redirected to iFood, a delivery app, where they gained their beer right from the game.
